Roving and Batt
ROVING is the third step in processing
fiber. After the fiber is washed and picked to remove most of the debris and vegtable matter, the fiber is then sent
through the CARDING machine. The fibers are aligned and formed into long tubular coils which is then ready to be spun.
Hand spinners love fine alpaca roving. During this process you can choose to have specialty blending of multiple colors
or fibers. Use your imagination.
Batt
BATT is created in
the same manner as roving, however it is formed into large clouds of fiber rather than tubes. The batts are perfect
for dry or wet felting. We can produce layers of batt to make felted fabric here at the mill.
